Low-down on Avocados

Lately, I have found that I like to order things off a menu that include avocados.  Rarely do I prepare them at home, but it's always a nice addition to any meal.

Avocados are considered a superfood- their creamy flesh is packed with nutrients for young skin and a strong heart.  Nutrients such as monounsaturated fats & fat-soluble nutrients, like vitamins A & E, are essential to skin, eyes, heart, brain and liver.

Although they have a high fat content, the fats come in different forms, some of which are needed for good health.  Need protein?  Avocados have it.  It also includes vitamin C, B vitamins and copper to produce collagen (for skin, bone, muscle rejuvenation, reducing wrinkles and anything that requires production of body tissues/collagen).

If you're looking to use avocados in your diet, blend them up in the next smoothie.  It makes drinks creamier and slow down release of sugars from other fruits (due to the fat content).  They're also great in salads or by themselves with a bit of evoo and seasoning.  :D
